Mitchell Powell joined the Teen Support Network in 2014. After graduating from Seaview High School in 2013, Mitchell began a traineeship in his local State MP’s Office, working for Corey Wingard, Member for Mitchell. Through this Traineeship, he has since made contact with many businesses and organisations, as well as other MPs. Mitchell says he was drawn to the Teen Support Network after one of his best mates, Blake Derer, told him about it and what it was all about. After meeting Billy Russell, he decided that Teen Support Network was an organisation he was keen to get involved with. Mitchell was bullied constantly in year 8, but after moving High Schools he has made a whole new bunch of friends that he is still friends with today. He is happy to speak about those experiences with you and offer advice if you would like it.
Mitchell loves sports such as AFL, Cricket and soccer. He was also his High School Sport’s Day Captain in 2013 and captained the Marion Football Club’s Under 18’s side in 2014. Mitchell hopes to one day represent his local area in South Australian Parliament. Although this is probably many years off, he is very passionate about his local community.
